Daneel in The Hit Show "Occupied" |
|
What really goes on in the men’s room? A meeting of the minds, a confluence of ideas, a personal search for meaning?
Here’s the hook—yes, there is, in fact, a woman in the men’s washroom.
Public washrooms are a necessary evil. They’re smelly, kinda drab, always dirty, and the people inside them are complete and total strangers. But we use them every day. Everyone does, from the high-powered lawyer on her way to a business meeting, all the way down to the penniless home-less man, covered in filth. “Occupied” is a snapshot of the Central LRT washroom on any typical weekday morning and asks the question that has plagued mankind for centuries: out of margarine and cream cheese, which is the healthier bagel topping?
Occupied ran at the Edmonton 2008 Fringe Festival at the Brian Paisley Stage, Academy of King Edward School, from August 14 through August 23, 2008.

...we enjoyed Daneel Irons as Ms. Clementine, a high-flying and self-important lawyer who can hire and fire as she pleases - even if she has stage fright on the john"
- Elizabeth Withey, The Edmonton Journal

Thank you to everyone who packed the house at hulbert's for the Turn Up The Spotlight cabaret!

Daneel was joined by some of Edmonton's sauciest starlets, Caley Suliak, Alison Boyce and Erika Noot who delighted the audience with their humor and charm. The ladies were proud to be accompanied by the talented and one of a kind Charlie Austin.
